Our Story

Every Journey Starts Somewhere

Rockhound Road began with a simple idea:

Minerals have great stories, but sometimes those stories are hard to uncover.

I wanted to create a way for anyone—whether you're a lifelong collector or simply curious—to discover Earth's history through real mineral specimens and approachable geology.

Why "Stations"?

Instead of random boxes or mystery collections, every Station is a stop along an adventure.

These are inspired by ranger stations in a park where you meet a friendly guide who points out all of the interesting sights along the trails. I call the info cards "Field Notes" because school field trips were when I first learned about minerals; it sounded nice to me and I thought you would appreciate that, too.

My goal isn't just to help you build a collection.

It's to help you understand why those specimens matter.

Who is Rockhound Road For?

Whether you're buying your first piece of quartz or adding a rare specimen to your collection, you're welcome here.

Rockhound Road is built for curious people who enjoy learning, exploring, and appreciating the world around us.

Around here, we're a community. And we call ourselves Trailblazers.

Our Mission

Helping curious people become collectors.

Every video and every Station Box is created with that mission in mind. This hobby is meaningful and a lot of fun for me, and I want to pass that enjoyment on to all of you.
